This a collection of predictions that I have collected from various interviews over the past year in regards to the super fight, Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. These people include current and former world champions, Hall of Famers, legendary broadcasters ect. Plus you will get my keys to victory for both fighters and my final prediction for the big fight on May 2nd.

Former World Champion, Shane Mosley: For the simple fact that I was seriously hurt with ‘Pacman’ and was able to avoid him knocking me out and Mayweather is not hurt and is generally the best at avoiding punches, I would have to go with Mayweather. Plus Mayweather has Ariza and Pacquiao doesn’t, so I am definitely going with Mayweather on this one, although I like Manny personally and wish him the best.

Legendary Broadcaster, Dave Bontempo: I’m still leaning to Mayweather, I think that he’s just got so many smarts that he finds a way to get out of situations and Pacquiao will pressure him but it’s a lean on Mayweather but I would sit back and enjoy the fight. If I was a bettor, I wouldn’t go near it because I don’t know which guy will show up.

Legendary Broadcaster, Al Bernstein: I’ll probably announce this so I wouldn’t make a prediction, but Mayweather is clearly the favorite in the fight, but it’s not impossible for Pacquiao to win

Trainer, John Scully: No, not at all. I do believe that he’s still good enough to beat ‘Pacman’ and I believe he would mentally be on such a high for that fight. I think it if there was a night when he could turn back the clock, it would be on that night.

Based on everything I know right now, I would never pick against Floyd in that fight. I wouldn’t pick against him with anyone t be honest with you. There’s no one out there in his weight class that I would pick against him. On the one hand, he’s not quite the fighter he was but the fighter he is, is still better than just about everybody out there.

Legendary Broadcaster, Bob Sheridan: Whether I’m announcing it or not, my heart is with Pacquiao. I’ll probably bet on Pacquiao.

This Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, I expect a lot of close rounds and I expect it to be a controversial decision.

Hall of Fame Referee, Richard Steele I think that Mayweather’s size is going to be a factor, and not only his size but his speed. I know Pacquiao is very fast and throws a lot of punches but he’s the smaller guy, he’s smaller than Mayweather is. A lot of people are going to get to see that Mayweather is just as fast as Pacquiao.

Former Champion, Ray Mancini: I think Mayweather beats him. They’re both special fighters but Mayweather is bigger, faster and stronger, that’s a trifecta in boxing.

Former World Champion, Antonio Tarver: I think Floyd wins a decision but if this fight doesn’t go the distance, you have to lean toward Pacquiao landing that shot within the distance.

World Champion, Keith Thurman: I still pick Mayweather. Pacquiao needs to be the Pacquiao that made him famous. He needs to throw the punches, the combinations.

Robert Brown: I do not expect the Mayweather that fought Maidana or Cotto, I expect a traditional Mayweather that will use his legs more, pot shot and look for opportunities to counter. Watch for Mayweather to look for the straight right touch jab, and I believe more so than in recent fights, the uppercut to catch Pacquiao when he sometimes falls in after throwing the left hook.

I expect Pacquiao to throw many more jabs than in recent fights, because Mayweather has been known to get hit quite often with the jab, most recently by Cotto and Maidana, however going back as far as De La Hoya. I expect more of the old style Manny who destroyed De La Hoya and Margarito overwhelming them with activity. Pacquiao’s keys will be the jab, high punch output, straight left hand and attacking and moving in and out from different angles.

My Final Prediction

I expect there to be several back and fourth and controversial rounds, I believe the fight will go the distance and the fight will either be a controversial split decision to Mayweather or a draw. Given that prediction, despite no rematch clause, I expect there is a high possibility of a rematch.

I would like to thank all the staff with On The Ropes Radio, the IBO and all the loyal fans. Enjoy the fight!
