(Transcribed by Michael Readman)With the Pacquiao-Bradley rematch now being less than two days away, trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. appeared on the 212th edition of “On The Ropes” to give his final thoughts on the event. In part 2 of my interview, Floyd shares his views on the promotion for the bout and talked what condition he thinks both fighters are in leading into it. Mayweather also talks about the possibility of his son and Pacquiao meeting in the ring if Pacquiao wins this weekend. Additionally, Floyd gives his official prediction for Pacquiao-Bradley II and lets fans know what he has coming this year. Here is what Floyd Mayweather Sr. had to say. Jenna J: Floyd, the rematch between Timothy Bradley and Manny Pacquiao is coming up. Have you watched any of the 24/7 stuff or any of the Face-off stuff?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: I’ve been trying to watch it but I haven’t really had chance to. I see a little bit here and there, I haven’t seen much on it. I seen them having words back and forth last night on TV.
They were talking about how bad Timothy Bradley fought the Russian I think it was — how badly the Russian gave Timothy Bradley some concussion or something for about a month or maybe four or six months. He had a coma, something like he had brain problems.
That’s what they were saying yesterday on that, and of course that was seen on TV and then we turn around again and then we see Pacquiao get stretched for at least ten minutes, so both of them are right there at the pinnacle of no return.
It’s a lets see fight. Let’s see what happens, that’s what kind of fight it is right now. Both of them have had — well Pacquiao took one strike and it was enough to show everybody about his ass and then the other one, we know he suffered some kind of brain damage for a minute. You know both of them are on that line so we just have to wait and see.
Jenna J: Timothy Bradley has been saying that he thinks Pacquiao doesn’t have any hunger any more and that he doesn’t have any desire any more. Do you think that’s true or do you think that Pacquiao is as hungry as ever and trying to make those big pay days?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: Well I’m gonna tell you like this right here; that goes for both of them. They both might be hungry and there might be nothing for them to eat, that’s what it might end up being like, because both of them got the shit beat out of them.
Pacquiao got knocked out, got put to sleep for a long, long damn time and then you got the other boy here that took a brutal — he won the fight so hey, I’m not gonna say he didn’t win the fight, but he didn’t come out of it okay. They’re both on their way out the door, all you gotta do is open the door and push them out and they’re gone, it’s over.
Jenna J: Would you like to see Pacquiao win so maybe one day that fight can happen between Pacquiao and your son?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: My opinion is, I don’t really care because, I’m just saying, it would have been a good fight maybe before. It might have been a good fight quite a while ago, even with what happened it might have been a good fight but hey, who cares now? I mean who cares?
Little Floyd and the other fighter, Marquez — little Floyd beat the hell out of Marquez and dropped him and everything else and he shut him out for ten rounds and then this guy comes back and knocks Pacquiao straight cold. That should tell it all, that should tell it all right there.
Jenna J: Floyd, for four years you’ve been answering questions about Pacquiao and Mayweather. Wouldn’t you just like to see it happen so you could say, “Hey this is what I’ve been talking about for four years”?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: Like I said, everybody knows who the king of the ring is. Ain’t no doubt, everybody knows Floyd is what it’s all about. I’m telling you right now, we don’t need Pacquiao doing another one of them things again do we? Getting another one of those that Marquez done to him, we don’t need another one of those do we?
Jenna J: Back to the Pacquiao-Bradley fight, if you had to pick a winner, who would you go with?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: I think what’s gonna happen here and this is my honest opinion, my honest opinion is they are going to, in my opinion, I’m not saying it’s right, I’m not saying its wrong but then again more than likely it will be right. If they come down to a tight decision, Pacquiao’s gonna get the edge, ain’t no question about it.
I’m just telling you that whether he win or lose — this guy right now, the only way he can beat Pacquiao is to knock Pacquiao out. If I see Pacquiao and him both standing, you’re gonna see Pacquiao’s arm go up in the air. I’m just telling you what time of day it is, that’s what’s gonna happen right now.
They were talking about that last night, and he was telling Pacquiao, “As long as you don’t knock me out, I ain’t going nowhere,” but his ass must not know what’s going on. They ain’t there for your ass, they are there for Pacquiao, to help Pacquiao out. The only chance he’s got is to knock Pacquiao out, that’s the only chance he does have and if he don’t realize it, oh well.
Jenna J: I wanna talk about the reality program that you have coming up. I heard that you were gonna fight Ruben Guerrero and I heard it was close. Have they changed their mind on that or are you still gonna fight him?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: It’s really on them what they want to do, if they want to be crazy enough to put that man in the ring with me, that’s on them. If they put him in the ring with me he’s gonna get done worse than his son got done and we know he don’t wanna get done too much worse than that.
He’s gonna take a terrible whopping and messing with him would be a terrible knockout. That’s all I’ve gotta tell you about that because that fight ain’t nothing to talk about because the man can’t whoop me.
Jenna J: Floyd, you’ve got a big May coming up. How excited are you for the month? You’ve got your sons fight and then the show(Knockout) is gonna debut. How excited are you for it?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: Well, all of this is exciting. I’m looking forward to my son’s fight and waiting for that to come up and I know that’s gonna be exciting. I definitely wanna see myself, I think that’s gonna be pretty good. I think the people are gonna like it.
I think people will get into me and Ruben Guerrero because that’s happening almost every day, everyday there’s a fight, everyday we lock heads. It can be anything that we talk about and we might get into the son thing — Floyd and Guerrero — and then it goes from that point to me and him!
To tell you the truth, some people might say Floyd Mayweather’s scared, they might say I’m scared, but believe me, there’s not a scared bone in my body about fighting nobody like no damn Guerrero, shit. As far as I’m concerned he’s a wino, okay. It would be like me whopping a bum off the street. I ain’t that kind of guy, I help. I’m the kind of guy that’s out there, I’m passing things off. When I see Mr. Guerrero, I might pass him something.
Jenna J: Floyd, back to the fight your son has coming up. How do you see that playing out from the opening bell to the finish and if there is a finish early, what round do you think it’s happening in?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: Well, I feel that to be honest, this ain’t no Adrien Broner, okay, this ain’t no Adrien Broner that’s going to work now and this ain’t nothing like none of them foolish ass trainers that Broner’s got, talking about, “Oh he’s only trained one champion in his life.” Stupid fools!
Like I said before, I’ve trained tons of contenders after contenders, after contender and I made my son a champion. I made Chad Dawson a champion, and made Steve Forbes a champion, made Oscar De La Hoya a champion three times. Man, go to hell.
They can’t tell me nothing about what I did, can’t tell me nothing about what I did. And those aren’t all the champions I’ve made, I’ll bet you I’m gonna make two champions this year. I ain’t talking about it, I’m being about it.
Jenna J: What is your official prediction for Mayweather-Maidana? Do you see this fight ending early or going late?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: To be honest with you, he’s gonna get stopped. I’m gonna say that when we get through patching him up – we’re gonna patch him up first a little bit — then we’re gonna get what we need. When we get what we need, now we’ve got what it takes.
Jenna J: Floyd, is there any message you want to pass along to the fans of what they can expect from Floyd Sr. for the rest of 2014?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: Well you know, you can look at me on any television station or radio station. Hey, you all know Floyd, I am who I am and I do what I do. I am the best, I must confess, for all the rest there is no contest. I will shock your mind, I’m one of a kind, hey, I’m one of the greatest men of all time.
