By Jenna J – “On The Ropes” Boxing Radio returns again this week with host Jenna J to breakdown all the recent fight action that has taken place in boxing. In this episode I will recap last Saturday’s HBO event which featured a light middleweight bout between Miguel Cotto and Delvin Rodriguez. Cotto returned to the ring for his first bout with his new head trainer, Freddie Roach. Many people questioned whether Cotto was on the tail end of his career as he was coming off two consecutive loses, all the doubts were put to rest as Cotto stopped Delvin Rodriguez after just 3 rounds. I will talk about the future of both men after this fight as well as the possibility of Sergio Martinez fighting Miguel Cotto at 154 lbs.

Another fight was also featured on that card as IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko faced Russian Olympic gold medalist, Alexander Povetkin. The fight itself did not deliver the action that boxing fans hoped for as Povetkin was unable to deal with Klitschko’s height and reach advantage and lost a wide unanimous decision. I will discuss the future of Klitschko and I will also touch on the referee who did little to stop the clinching and grabbing during the fight. Lastly I will be previewing the fight between Juan Manuel Marquez and Timothy Bradley which is set to happen this Saturday night. Marquez coming off his KO victory over Pacquiao looks to hand Timothy Bradley his first professional loss. Just click on the audio player to listen to the show!

Guests
Joining the show this week is super middleweight contender, Edwin “La Bomba” Rodriguez. Edwin talks about his next fight against Andre “SOG” Ward and how he plans on defeating the unbeaten Ward. Ricky talks about finding peace in his life after his long career as a boxer. Additionally Ricky talks the current boxing landscape and also discusses his new book which was released Oct 10th.

Hatton surprises me so much, as I really did see him doing off the deep end, but he has rebounded and is enjoying life right now. Oscar De La Hoya is having issues and can’t over come them, so what Ricky has done with his history is amazing.
