“On the Ropes” Boxing Radio returns this week with host Jenna J to breakdown all the latest fights and fight news in boxing. In this episode I will be recapping this past weekends’ Premier Boxing Champions event, which aired live on NBC and featured two high profile match ups. I will be talking about Andy Lee’s hard fought draw with Peter Quillin and discuss the future of both men after their entertaining encounter. I will also speak about Danny Garcia’s controversial decision win over Lamont Peterson.

Lastly I will preview the highly anticipated Lucas Matthysse vs. Ruslan Provodnikov bout and Terence Crawford vs. Thomas Dulomore which take place this Saturday on HBO, as well as the Showtime event that will be headlined by the return of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. as he takes on tough light heavyweight contender, Andrzej Fonfara. Having gained recognition for his work with Timothy Bradley, Joel now has a strong stable of fighters which include the likes of Diego Magdaleno, Omar Figueroa and Diego De La Hoya. Joel Diaz speaks about training Felix Diaz to a victory this past Saturday and what he feels Felix needs to take his game to the next level. Joel also gives an update on Timothy Bradley and who he would like to see ‘Desert Storm’ in the ring with next. Additionally, Diaz gives a breakdown of the May 2nd bout between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao and who he expects to emerge victorious.

The second guest on this show is Hall of Fame commentator, Al Bernstein. Al gives his thoughts on the recent fights that have taken place in the sport, including the rise of the Premier Boxing Champions series and what it do for the sport. Bernstein also discusses the Chavez Jr. vs. Fonfara bout that he will be commentating on this Saturday night and what he expects to see from Chavez at this stage of his career. Al also gives his views on the Matthysse-Provodnikov fight and the Mayweather-Pacquiao bout. Lastly, Al Bernstein speaks about the future of boxing and who he thinks can take over once Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao retire from boxing.

The main guest is renowned trainer, Floyd Joy Mayweather Sr, who gives an update on the training camp for Floyd Mayweather Jr, as we near May 2nd. Floyd addresses some of the rumors coming out of the Mayweather camp regarding injuries with Floyd’s hands. Mayweather Sr. also shares his thoughts on Alex Ariza being part of the camp and what he feels Ariza brings to the table. Senior also gives talks about Freddie Roach and issues a warning to Roach.
