Ray Mancini: “I’m not paying to see Floyd Mayweather. Manny Pacquiao was the draw, everyone knows that!”

The 2015 Boxing Hall of Fame class gets inducted June 14th, in Canastota, NY. This years’ class includes Prince Naazim Hamad, Riddick Bowe and Ray ‘Boom Boom’ Mancini. Mancini amassed a career record of 29-5 with 23 KOs and was often featured in prime time television due to his exciting fan friendly style. Ray Mancini’s career had it’s ups and downs, but he remains in the public eye today due to the fact that he faced every challenge in his life, much like he did in his boxing career.

In part 1 of my “On The Ropes” boxing radio interview with Ray Mancini, I talk with him about his recent involvement with truTV as a boxing commentator. Mancini also talks about his recent inclusion into the Boxing Hall of Fame, and shares his thoughts on why he believes he got the recognition. Ray also talks about the fight the world waited for, but was ultimately disappointment in, Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. Here is what Ray Mancini had to say.

Jenna J: You have made a return to commentary, working with truTV’s Friday Night Knockout series. How do you feel being back in commentary?

Ray Mancini: Great, I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time. I’ve done it for years, especially in the 80’s, even when I was fighting and right after I retired I was doing quite a bit of it. I always enjoyed it, I always felt that it’s easy to talk about something you know about.

I always thought that boxing was the one sport that kind of shot itself in the behind because they always use sports writers and people that weren’t necessarily in the ring. They weren’t using ex fighters, like every other sport, they use ex players and people can talk from an internal point of view. I always thought that was very important.

There are a lot of good writers and a lot of good announcers but I always felt that the thing that was missing was the internal point of view, how do you talk about what it is like to get smacked on the chin and getting knocked on your behind, if you’ve never been there? Now networks are starting to use fighters again and I think it’s very good, good for boxing and good for commentary. The fact that I got to come back and do it on truTV, I’m very flattered and very honored.

Jenna J: It was announced that you will be inducted into the 2015 Boxing Hall of Fame. How do you feel about the honor of being put into the Hall of Fame?

Ray Mancini: It’s just unbelievable; it’s something that I don’t think anybody can imagine. I don’t think any athlete in any sport goes in and says, “I’m going to be in the Hall of Fame.” You go in there to be a champion, to be the best champion you can be and hopefully you do well enough that you’re able to accomplish those goals and those dreams and maybe make some money out of it.

I don’t think anyone says, “One day I’ll make it to the Hall of Fame,” I don’t know if I’ve ever heard anybody say that’s their goal. To be a champion should be the goal, to be the best you can be. For me it was just to be the champion and then once I won the championship, to be the best fighter I could be. I wanted to be a respectable champion, an honorable champion. I had a good run at it, but that was it, I never thought of the Hall of Fame.

They called me in October and I heard I was on the ballot, and I was honored. To me that was it, that was enough. I said it then and I repeated it after I found out I won, I said I didn’t think my career warranted it because I only fought five and a half years as a pro. To me, when you’re a Hall of Famer, it’s about guys who have longevity, to fight long careers and fight for titles from the beginning to the end. When I found out that I made it, it was unbelievable.

A reporter called me and told me and I said the same thing about not having a long career and he said to me, “No, you have to understand, you were part of the early 80’s. Guys like you, Leonard, Camacho, Pryor, you put boxing on the map. If it wasn’t for you guys, I don’t think HBO or Showtime would be where it’s at and certainly not pay-per-view. You guys brought it to the forefront of the American public. It isn’t the quantity of your fights that got you in, it’s the quality of your fights that got you in.” I said, “Ah, I’ll take that.”

Jenna J: The two big networks recently combined their efforts to put on the biggest pay-per-view of all time in Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. A lot of fans were disappointed with what they got from that fight, what did you think of the fight and do you think fans should be disappointed?

Ray Mancini: Absolutely fans should be disappointed. A friend of mine had an event, we had four couples, he had a screening room and we watched it on the big screen. My wife was snoring from the fourth round on, literally, we were laughing. We look over to my friend’s wife and she was sleeping. What does that say? That’s all you need to know, it was that type of fight.

We shouldn’t feel like we got suckered. I wasn’t going to pay $100 for it, thank God I was invited somewhere. I know a lot of people who were die hard boxing fans who didn’t pay for it, but there’s enough that did. I don’t know why we should be mad because Mayweather hasn’t done anything different in all his career. We know what type of fighter that he is. He’s a special type of fighter, don’t get me wrong, he’s a special talent.

Usually he keeps bragging that he has the top pay-per-view fights, this fight, the De La Hoya fight and the Canelo fight. But look who were the stars, Pacquiao, De La Hoya and Canelo. What happened when he fought Robert Guerrero? What happened there? They lost 13 million but no one talks about that. What I’m saying is, there have been fights that he’s lost big money for the networks, so why should we think that it’s going to be anything different? It’s always about who he’s gonna fight.

We know what type of fight he’s gonna do, we know he’s not gonna engage — he hasn’t engaged with a fighter in over ten years. He’s not gonna put it on the line, he’s gonna slap you around from the outside as long as can and get away with a victory. Great, but that’s not pay-per-view to me.

Jenna J: How does Mayweather compare to PPV stars of the past like Sugar Ray Leonard?

Ray Mancini: He could have never beaten Ray Leonard, Ray Leonard had a mean streak, when he was in there, he wanted to annihilate you, embarrass you. Ray Leonard would not let you finish on your feet, Ray Leonard closed the show, that’s the difference between him and this guy.

Ray Leonard was a worthy pay-per-view because we knew he was going to try to close the show no matter what, Mayweather doesn’t, he doesn’t and he won’t. For me, I’m not paying to see him. He’s got special skills and he’s a special fighter but I’m not paying to see him. On free TV, fine. If not, no. Pacquiao was the draw, everyone knows that.

Here’s the other thing; Floyd doesn’t care about the paying public. I always said that athletes in general and fighters in particular have an obligation to the paying public to give them the best fight possible. He doesn’t care about that and he hasn’t cared about that. He’s a modern day Houdini, he doesn’t take a lick of a chance, he takes your money and he gets away with it. He doesn’t take a lick of a chance and he gets away with it.

Oh my god !!! Mr. Mancini just broke Jenna J’s heart !!!

  2. calvin kalma says:

absolutely youre correct Mr. Mancini, the Pacman was the draw always….

    • Anonymous says:

Dickhead that’s why he has 5 losses and pacman has 6 because they give the paying public (which all Mancini’s fights were free) bit don’t hate, why couldn’t pacman cut the ring off if Floyd was running because he couldn’t Floyd would have destroyed Mancini and would have beat ray Leonard too all ray Leonard did was take punches and Floyd don’t case closed

  3. Ben Baja says:

Can’t agree more with Ray M. He’s an honorable sportsman and human being. I’ve enjoyed watching all of his fights, he’s quite amazing. I would love to see and hear him making commentary as a fight analyst on any big fights. He always make sense when he speaks. He’s fair and always speaking the truth, unlike Kellerman, Roy Jones, Malignagi and other nonsensical showtime & HBO commentator and analysts. Their negativity makes me think that they are prejudice who are afflicted with enviousness or jealousy for the one they tend to thrash. My thought about their commentaries is unlimited to thinking of many other foul and illegal dealings they’re associated with.

    • Reagan says:

You can not agree more because you are biased I. Favor of the cheat. Mayweather and the American officials are cheat.

    • Anonymous says:

I agree with Mancini 100% Floyd has a talent but he does not engage I pay to see a fight but I only Bought this fight because it was Pacman I know when Pacman fight he comes to fight..Mayweather dance and held Pacman all night I felt like I was watching Dancing with the Stars and Mayweather has the nerve to say he is the best I can only imagine if he was able to meet Tommy the Hitman Hearns who would destroy Floyd or Marvelous Marvin, Roburto Duran the hands of stone ,Arron Pryor or leanard, Sugar Ray Robinson one of the best I’ve ever seen could knock you out with either hand going backwards he was amazing so Floyd thinks he is the best ever I don’t think so, all them guys I just name came to fight not dance

      • Pery says:

I agree Mayweather has a talent for running and his father is very proud of that especial talent.

        • Kidd KulaPooh-Pooh says:

That’s why cutting off the ring don’t mean squat when all JailWeather Jr. has to do is either RUN or HUG to get out of the pocket.
However, GGG showed in the Murray fight how to avoid getting clinched. He’ll just need to figure out Floyd’s SPRINTING game if they do fight

        • mary says:

I don’t think he’s father was proud of that you should have seen his father telling him to fight until he kicked him out of the ring!

        • shiz says:

Dickheads if you KNOW he’s gonna run and still chose to fight him and lose don’t be a sore loser or a dickhead fan 48 lost you Kean to tell me everybody knows he’s gonna run but can’t come up with a game plan to hit him but he can hit them running YALL SOUND LIKE IDIOTS AND HATERS I THINK IF FLOYD WERE WHITE HE WOULD BE THE GREATEST IN PEOPLES EYES STOP HATING 48 LOST AND FLOYD HASNT ray Leonard lost Duran lost stop it with these past boxers they not in Floyd time so no ifs … But I guess pacman would have beat ray Leonard and hearns and hagler please pacmans a bum that got put to sleep for 2 minutes and just got trashed I’m done with y’all fools

          • Jesus Christ says:

Manny lost because it was my will, Manny uses my name to promote himself and isn’t humble. Manny piggy backed on Mayweather and made money. Now he’s trying to use mine and I don’t like it. Manny is a sore loser and behaves like a Psycho ex-girlfriend that won’t let you quite them. I idea that he still says he won the fight should tell he didn’t except my plan for him. He rejected my will, and now I will come down on him harder. I will allow him to lose all his wealth and fame. The world is laughing at you Manny aka CRY BABY. Go to your wet nurse mama for a feeding. LOSER! Adios God has spoken.

          • Satan says:

I agree with Jesus Christ on this.

  4. r.a.w. says:

Mr. Mancini, in 40 fights, “Sugar” Ray Leonard had 25 KO’s and “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather had 25 KO’s. Selective memory is human. Enough said!

      Huh?

    • cesar says:

Floyd can bitch slap your lady

    • Anonymous says:

Sugar ray never played keep away,he would have knocked the piss out of jailweather

    • Ruben Tejada says:

Floyd might not be compared to any other boxer but like ray said floyd get all his ppv because of dela hoya …ever sence dela hoya he got put in the top of ppv and he changed his name to “money” what else can you say

    • Alex says:

Numbers don’ t mean anything where Floyd is concerned. All his fights in the last 10 years were cooked up by Haymon with the ever obliging NSAC. USADA, PAID REFS AND JUDGES. That’ s why Floyd is too scared to fight outside Vegas, where he has no cheating machinery. The networks have lost on Floyd. Notice that Floyd was the one announcing the PPVs except the last fight. That’s because the draw was Manny.

    • shiz says:

      R.A.W. preach to these idiots

  5. Ismael says:

Spot on Mancini, to win convincingly a boxer MUST engage, take risks and dominate physically and mentally.Floyd is no Leonard,Benitez,Armstrong,Hearns or Robinson and THAT MY FRIENDS IS A PROVEN TAKE IT TO YOUR BANK AND CASH IT F-A-C-T!!!!

  6. r.a.w. says:

Victor Ortiz has a slightly better record than Ray. I guess he’ll be a hall of famer soon as well.

    • Sucker Floyd says:

Hahahaha Floyd Sr. is that you ?

    • Pery says:

Mayweather is a lot better for running inside the ring. He plaque in the Hall of Fame when he becomes inducted should include a statement “the best runner in the ring and fun to watch”.

    • 1911 says:

What the heck is the criteria for the boxing hall of fame when guys like Mancini get in? Can the bar be any lower???

  7. Jovijo says:

At least there is one who aligned with the rest of us who thinks Floyd is a Bogus Prizefighter. He is not worthy of all the superlatives they frequently said during the Superfight when he refused to engaged to Manny Pacquiao’s one arm onslaught. Just not worthy of any pay per view fights. Clearly a wise ass
Fighter and that’s what he is good at. The bullshit and the insults he throws at his opponents.

  8. Boom Boom Mancini is
    definitely right! Just like
    what Mike Tyson had once
    said, that Manny Pacquiao
    is an exciting fighter…
    These two great fighters
    believed that Pacquiao won
that fight as what the rest
    of the World saw it…

    • Anonymous says:

Tyson admitted that Mayweather won a boring fight! What you talking about.

  9. julius says:

Mayweather is no competitor. He’ll play it safe in every fight by not boxing for most of the fight by simpky evading contact and running away with points. Mayweather fans call it brilliantbdeffense I call it pathetic and cheap.

  10. Kidd Kulafu Guerrero says:

    Truth.

    • Kidd KulaPooh-Pooh says:

      Dear Jason Kidd Kulangot GirlGago,
Prison inmates Grabbed & Held ur mommy.. They clinched her so she couldn’t get away….
Nxt time, Freddy CockRoach should seriously study Floyd’s fight films instead of just watching porno flicks starring ur mom, aunt, & sister… PEACE

      • Kidd Kulafu Guerrero says:

TROLL. And a stupidly uncreative one at that, so boring and repetitive. AUTO-IGNORE. ^_^

        • Kidd KulaPooh-Pooh says:

          Dear Jason Kidd Kulangot GirlGago,
I’m a Pacquiao fan but clearly Fraud ScumWeather Jr. easily outsmarted Roach & Manny. How stupid can they get not knowing Jail Jr. was gonna Run & Clinch when he needed to.
BTW, putang ina mo at pokpok ang aunt & sister mo…. PEACE & have a nice day ULOL !!!

      • Anonymous says:

You so called non biased fight fan aka cloest racist should man up and truthfully say why you hat3 floyd as far as Ray Mancini is concerned he did not have the skills so he took alot of punishment because he had no choice .Let’s all take a good look at Leonard vs Hagler another superfight Leonard would not did not engage ,wnd rightfully so look at Bowe, Hearns and Meldrick Taylor .All examples of fan favorite fighters how are they today physically .It is the first rule of life self preservation. Why should someone take a beating to please you. Only a fool would take a beating to please those who don’t give a fk about him or his family .If you pay to see someone get hit then you have no appreciation of the sport ,it’s called the sweet science for a reason .Pacquiao has become a champion in part thanks to speed and footwork as well as great defense taught him by Freddie Roach look at Marquez vs Pacquiao #1 look at how many yimes he was hit in that fight. He was never ever hit as much afterwards. Roach worked very hard to polish and fine tune Manny’s defensive skills. Stop hating and recognize the skill it took to stop Manny’s offensive outburst .

        • Ruben Tejada says:

If floyd was good like he claims he could out box any other boxer or brawler by beating them with out there allways being claims of draws or cheating….I believe he is that good…he could get in with any body and teach them a boxing lessen and win with out doubt …but until he does that he will allways be a boring boxer

      • shiz says:

        Hahaha dickhead Kidd Kulu

  11. LeBalding Flopper says:

Boom Boom is partially right… Both of them were the BIG draw.
In general, fans largely tune in hoping TO WITNESS Fraud ScumWeather Jr. finally lose and get sent to a hospital in a comatose state.
I still maintain that Roach & Pacquiao had a lousy fight plan…. which is a shame…. tsk tsk

    • Pery says:

Pacquiao should have listened to his first trainer to be very aggressive in every round and he could have knocked out the mayweather.

  12. BOIE MACHO says:

“He’s a modern day Houdini, he doesn’t take a lick of a chance, he takes your money and he gets away with it.” HAHAHAHAHA……

  13. LeBalding Flopper says:

Ray Leonard was bigger, faster, and a harder puncher. And don’t 4get, Sugar Ray was an excellent boxer and could take a punch in his prime.
Leonard is being modest when he said he couldn’t beat JailWeather Jr.
    I believe that he could.

  14. LeBalding Flopper says:

Sorry Boom-Boom but I don’t believe u deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.
    Just my humble opinion …

BTW, everyone talks about the action packed Hagler vs. Hearns fight.
Take a look at Art Frias vs. Boom-Boom Mancini…. They threw nuclear bombs from the get-go…. non-stop action

    • Alex says:

Well, Mancini is a hall of famer! And who are you to say otberwise? Tbe fact that you believe Floyd’s Houdini stunts says a lot how gullible you are.

      • LeBalding Flopper says:

And what exactly did Boom-Boom accomplish?
He beat Art Frias and who else? All the rest of his Ws were against unskilled tomato cans or washed-up fighters. And Deuk-koo Kim was severely dehydrated during the fight due to language/culture barrier. He didn’t even have water & ice in his corner. He probably would’ve won that fight.. RIP.

  15. You are absolutely right Ex Boxer Mr. Mancini. myself 7-5 in favor of Pacman or let us say Draw.

  16. Henry Mayes says:

The only reason Pacquiao was a draw for people is because he was built up by the Media as the Mayweather Killer. And now that it has been found out by those “Sherpa that he isn’t, never was and never will be a Mayweather Killer. They instead of admitting their inaccuracies want to blame Mayweather for winning. You Racist MuthaFuckers are truly amazing.

    • Reagan says:

Manny Pacquiao is still the one to beat Gayweather. Floyd was hurt several times but Manny let him off the hook. It is evident that Pacquiao can easily beat him but he took it easy on Floyd not to embarrass him that much, unaware that he was programmed to be cheated by the American officials, the NSAC, the judges and the Compubox operators. This makes me believe that before the fight happened Floyd visited Manny in his hotel room and arranged with Pacquiao to go easy on him like what he did to others in case he hurt Him. Manny agreed and relented when he thought he has sealed the fight. But that was what only Floyd and the officials needed to award him the fight to see him standing at the end of the bout He could have been knocked down or out in the 4th round if Manny continued the onslaught. Floyd employ all forms of treachery to win and this one is a glaring evidence.

The compassion of Manny Pacquiao is making him vulnerable to this kind of people. But it does not make him look like a loser either because he made people believe that he can hurt Mayweather. In fact He even made Mayweather a believer in his prowess when he said that Manny Pacquiao is at the pinnacle of boxing.

      • Anonymous says:

Sweetly worded but no true. No boxer cud ask another boxer to go easy on him

    • Jei says:

Pacquiao won that fight. The proof is in the video. Watch it. Mayweather won 5 rounds and 3 of those rounds is not even convincing to be given to him. The only convincing rounds for Floyd really is round 1 and eleven the rest is given by generosity. Floyd cannot handle pacquiao’s power and that is the truth. Pacquiao’s is Floyd’s killer. How many times Floyd got staggered in that fight 5 to 7 times… Did he even hurt or got pacquiao in trouble,…No! Never. And Floyd is the A side fighter. Floyd is a fake champion. He fight scared. He run for five years to make this fight happen and he did it again… Only this time it’s in the ring. Floyd run from a midget with a bum right shoulder.

    • Placoderm says:

You fucking inbred nigglet, Pacquiao was a draw because he was an exciting fighter and built himself up with exciting fights against HOF fighters, unlike Mayweather who always plays it safe. Go back to the fields and pick cotton.

    • Anonymous says:

I couldn’t have said it better pacquiao the draw really how many pay per view records has he broke non.mayweather will always be the draw pacquiao will never make that kind of money again and mayweather will always make money because of these racist motherfuckers.

    • 1911 says:

      Henry Mayes is 150% correct!!!

    • Anonymous says:

You’re a freakin idiot! Just because someone doesn’t agree with your point of view doesn’t mean their racist. I’m so sick of uneducated people like yourself pulling the race card out every time someone disagrees with them on an issue involving an African American.

      • Anonymous says:

Do you have any African American friends not people you just speak to a real friend that you hang out with invite in your home go to his home if not question answered .In reality you will never have or do any of those things because you are a true closet racist ignorant to your own ignorance. It takes alot of skill to successfully defend yourself against an offensive force as Pacquiao is .The only thing you can see is that Floyd did not get hurt or imbarressed as you prayed for.You can’t lie to yourself deep down you know I’m right.!

  17. donnie isaac says:

What Rey Boom Boom Mancini said are I believed heartily spoken to be true and sincere birds-eye-view of what boxing fans flest. It is very reliable statements thereing being an experienced very courageous ang skillful fighter during those times and now as a mere audience of pay per view boxing. Being one of the die-hard boxing fans, the latest fights between Floyd and Manny was the most awaited supposed-to-be exciting events not only in boxing but among the sports. Nevertheless, it turned ourt to be the most frustrating to watch events.. The following facts were been eminiment to consider them boring fights and thus frustrated almost 100% from the audiences.., i. e.:

    1. Floyd who was considered No. Pound for Pound, did not do his job as expected. He kept ranning,arm-clipping,hugging with some accurate shots, but never been engaging the fight.
    2. Manny was the aggressor, but he never revealed that he has an injury while on the training period. just may be to keep the fights going on, which he knew, he could not possible win unless God’s power would have intervened.
    3. Floyd said as an excerpt from his post-fight interview that he has a spy to gather informations of what were going from Team Pacquiao’s training, which he said, he knew that Pacquiao righat shoulder was injured in the training. But, why he never attempted to engaged him when he was cornered instead of ranning and hagging..he could had been knocked Pacquiao out, we sam Floyd clipped the right arm of Pacquiao ,, thereby damaging it more, and then ranning again.
If there would be a rematch,, I promised to myself and family to to buy pay per view anymore.. even in the most cheapest amount… No way…

Floyd is TBE.. the bitter enemy of fans…he is good only to team and loyal friends… How could anbody say he is better that Ali… Ali is the Best…

  18. donnie isaac says:

    corrections..
I promised to myself and family not to buy pay per view anymore..even in the most cheapest amount …No way…

How could anybody say he is better than Mohamad Ali… Ali is the best so far…

  19. Ray Boom Boom Mancini is a great fighter! Even his no. of fights is less, they are of quality & exciting ones! Mayweather pales in comparison to Mancini’s appeal as a fighter! He is even a HUMBLE man! Can’t even accept his inclusion to the Hall of Fame but he deserves it! Not like Floyd who is creating his own title of TBE but no one believes him! He’s not a fighter! He’s a runner! He just slaps & run! NO GOOD BOXER and also NO GOOD MAN!!!

The Ref disappointed me by not controlling the fight an taking points from Floyd.
Another thing if you read in the sports page all of a sudden Vegas is cracking down on drug use,wow now that Floyd is retiring.Another thing if any one thinks Floyd will leave boxing without beating Marciano’s record they are crazy,He is a egotistical person.

Floyd should just be in amateur boxing.. win on points.. You can never win against this style, straight right then hug, pot shot and run when the opponents engage..

  24. correct mister mancini, correct! and in fact, pacquiao won that fight if only the judges did not close their eyes…

  25. Edwin Redulla says:

Absolutely you are correct great champ Mancini, in your heyday you are an exciting fighter. You are not biased as I saw the fight I agree with you it’s a draw

people forget Sugar Ray fought father Floyd & lasted 8 rounds it was competitive Floyd is a lot better than his father so when you want to think about sugar ray vs Floyd look at the fight from 1978…..Floyd sr. Had a similar style to Jr but was not as fast…Jr was a much gifted athlete….& much smarter fighter….I think sugar ray vs mayweather Jr. In there prime would have been a much tougher fight Sugar Ray Leonard than people give credit for…

I have read all your comments regarding the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight. Many of you claimed that Pacquiao was the draw because he was the “exciting” fighter; that Mayweather “ran and held all night long; or that Pacquiao won the fight.

    1. I will agree that Pacquiao was an exciting fighter prior to taking a chance and walking into a short right hand of Marquez. Then Pacquiao had two fights that he won convincingly. However, Mayweather is the pound for pound, number 1 undisputed prize fighter for a reason. And it is not about his record. Mayweather was the draw because he is the number one fighter on the planet and because he is the number one condender. Not to say that Pacquiao is not a great fighter, but boxing recognizes Mayweather as the sports number 1 and judging by the spread, so did Vegas.

    2. In boxing you are allowed to hold and the ref will determine how long. Most fighters will hold. It is considered a strategy.

Additionally, in boxing your going to get hit and Pacquiao did get in a few good shots on Mayweather, but Pacquiao only landed 19% of his punches and I would imagine he threw less than he normally throws. I think that is because Mayweather is skilled defensively. Boxing moniker is “stick and move” and that is what Mayweather does – all the time.

    3. If you think Pacquiao won, you don’t know how boxing is scored. The way to beat Mayweather is to put pressure on him. Zab Judah did that and would have beat Mayweather had he not gone crazy. I think if Pacquiao had applied pressure at the start of round won he would have set the tone for the fight and may have swayed the judges. I also think that knockout was in the back of his mind.

Finally, Pacquiao didn’t come to fight…taking selfies??? Come on Sun!

I’m sitting here reading everybody’s post laughing smh at all these Mayweather haters get over it he won the best pound for pound in this era he beat the same people Pacquiao did but the only thing different is may won all his fight and another thing boom boom u talk about mayweather pay per view fight but did u C the last few Pacquiao ppv fight the numbers pretty low nothing near maywhether numbers

  38. Cliff says:

Manny won the fight by at least 2 rounds. At least, Ray Mancini has telling the truth. I don’t pay to watch Floyd bu I’ll watch if I get pay.

  39. JustMike says:

Manny Pacquiao was dead in the water, it was MAYBE close until 8 then Floyd ran with it. You’re all saying Floyd has to engage but what about Pacquiao? Even the people with money on Pacman were throwing their hands up and shaking their heads, everyone knew Mayweather won.

Floyd’s the one who has had to witty about getting cheated on his career so y’all can stop with the paid judges theory.

Bottom line. Until boxing becomes popular again, which will happen again, lame fights like that, will hurt it and delay it coming back strong.
The talent just wasn’t there because the competition sucks. In the 80’s, each state had tremendous boxers.
Now, we have these guys that want to dance.
The fight was damaging to the sport. It was an awful fight. They should b fined.

  43. Ave manalo says:

Floyd mayweather cannot surpass the greatness of a muhammad ali or sugar ray robinson or even a mike tyson. Boxing fans want to see boxers ‘box’ and exchange punches with their foes. Floyd’s style is boring. I am left puzzled how and why his fights generate interest at all. Boxing rules should be revised to at least favor the more aggressive fighter. When people see exciting fights, boxing as a sport will gain more following and audience, hence more popular and everyone in the sports will be happy.

  44. If you’re truly a champion you go out there and knock everyone out and not run all night like a thief and bag everyone’s money…So for you Floydiot you really are a dumb idiot

  45. Anonymous says:

Ding, ding, ding, ding. Lets put some facts on the table. Mayweather the boxer embarrassed Pacquiao the brawler. Most of you would not ever get in the ring yourselves, so you really are all talk. Why would Pacquiao take it easy on Floyd? You think he didn’t want the purse that Floyd received? The problem with you guys is you think Floyd is easy to hit. If you can do better, get in the ring. Seriously Boxing is a sport, not the Gladiator arena where people fight to the death. Learn the sport and you might be able to appreciate it.

  46. leonard edwards says:

Yall can’t be serious nobody pay to see pacman the only reason floyd numbers are always so high because yall lay hoping he loses. Pacman havent had any of floyd ppv numbers not even close.

DANNY LITTLE RED ANDALL THE WELTER AND MIDDLE WEIGHT BOXERS OF COURSE YOU TOO .. ALL MAKE PROUD ..todays fighters not so ..call me old school but I miss our days of boxing ..I live in las Vegas and Floyd belongs here cause he’s like Wayne Newton another entertainer..not a fighter.in my POV.good luck at you induction and when you comming to Vegas I’d like a signed book ..your one of the greats Ray..my highest regards to you..ignore the haters..

  48. Jermz says:

Ya, Pacquiao was the draw right? Floyd vs Guerrero lost money, but did around 1 mil. Pacquiao Algieri does 300k.

    So much for that hogwash.
