“On The Ropes” Boxing Radio returns this week with host Jenna J to discuss all the recent fights and fight news in boxing. In this episode, I will talk about the recent announcement that Manny Pacquiao will be fighting his next fight in the UAE. I will also discuss the poll that was conducted by Pacquiao that asked the fans to pick who they wanted to see him fight next. The first guest on the show is former IBF super lightweight champion, Lamont Peterson. Following an extended layoff, Peterson returns to face David Avanesyan on February 18th to fight for the WBA welterweight title. Peterson talks about his time away from the ring and what he plans to achieve going forward in his career. Lamont also gives an insight into his final preparations for the bout with Avenesyan. Additionally, Peterson talks about his brother, Anthony Peterson, and the progression in his career.

Joining the show for the first time is long time commentator, Barry Tompkins, who recently got nominated to enter the Boxing Hall of Fame. Having called fights on all the major networks for several decades now, Barry reflects on his time in the sport and what it means to him to be given the honor to enter the Hall of Fame. Tompkins gives his insight into Adrien Broner’s return as he prepares to square off with Adrian Granados, and what he thinks Broner needs to do to live up to his potential. Barry also speaks of the possibility of Floyd Mayweather setting up a fight against MMA fighter, Conor McGregor. Finally, Barry Tompkins talks about the future of the sport and some exciting fights lined up for later in 2017.

The main guest on this edition of “On The Ropes” is the legendary Roy Jones Jr, who is preparing to take on Bobby Gunn this Friday night. Roy talks about his training camp and how he feels about competing in boxing at 48 years of age. Roy also speaks about his plans in the sport and if he feels he will retire soon. In addition, Roy gives his take on the upcoming fight between Saul Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, as well as a possible bout between Manny Pacquiao and Terence Crawford. Lastly, Roy Jones gives his prediction for his bout with Bobby Gunn and how he foresees the fight playing out.
