“On The Ropes” Boxing Radio is back once again this week with host Jenna J to recap all the recent fights and fight news in boxing. In this episode I will talk about the mega event that took place in London, England, which featured the highly anticipated rematch between George Groves and Carl Froch. The bout ended definitively this time, as Froch knocked Groves out in the 8th round in front of a giant crowd at Wembley stadium. I will talk about the significance of this event for both fighters and for the sport.

I will also be discussing Nonito Donaire’s return to the ring, as he took on WBA light featherweight champ Simpiwe Vetyeka in Macau, China. The bout was short lived, as after the 4th round, the fight went to a decision due to a cut over Donaire’s eye. Donaire walked away with the win, having knocked down Vetyeka in round 4. I will discuss the performance of Donaire and where he goes from here. Lastly, I will be previewing the upcoming HBO PPV card which is headlined by the WBC middleweight champion, Sergio Martinez, as he takes on Miguel Cotto in Madison Square Garden. Guests
Joining the show this week is veteran fighter, Rocky Juarez. Rocky talks about his recent fight in which he won the WBC silver featherweight title by defeating Rene Alvarado in a tough 12 round fight. Rocky also discusses his comeback to the ring, having been away from the sport for almost 2 years, as well as what his future plans are now that he holds a title belt. Lastly, Rocky Juarez gives his views on the boxing scene and some of the big upcoming bouts.

The second guest on this week’s program one of the most renowned trainers in the sport, Brother Naazim Richardson. Naazim is the head trainer of Bernard Hopkins and has also trained the likes of Steve Cunningham and Shane Mosley. Richardson gives his thoughts on Adonis Stevenson — who recently defeated Andrzej Fonfara — and how he thinks he would do against Bernard Hopkins if the two are to meet. Naazim also gives his thoughts on a possible Pacquiao-Marquez 5 fight.

(Special guest appearances by Karl “D-MITE” Dargan & Sharon “Aunt Coach” Barker)

The final guest is WBC middleweight champ Sergio ‘Maravilla’ Martinez. Martinez returns to the show ahead of his upcoming June 7th bout with Miguel Cotto. Sergio talks about the build up to the event and how his preparation has come along. Additionally, ‘Maravilla’ gives his official prediction for the match with Miguel Cotto.
