“On the Ropes” Boxing Radio is back this week in the midst of a world wide fight promotion, action packed fights, and exciting fight announcements. I will cover all the latest news and recap the recent Premier Boxing Champions card that saw Omar Figueroa score a stunning knockout win over the tough veteran, Robert ‘The Ghost’ Guerrero. I will also talk about the much publicized Mayweather-McGregor press tour that has captured the attention of many boxing and MMA fans, as the two polarizing stars continue to spar verbally in the lead up to their fight. Opening up this show is the vice president of boxing operations for Top Rank promotions, Carl Moretti. Moretti speaks about the ESPN deal that brought the Manny Pacquiao-Jeff Horn fight, as well as several other fights to the popular sports network, and the success that was attained from the Pacquiao-Horn bout. Carl also shares his views on the backlash to the decision that gave Jeff Horn a shocking win over the legendary Pacquiao, and where he feels Pacquiao goes next following this latest defeat. Additionally, Moretti discusses the future for Top Rank stars, Vasyl Lomachenko and Terence Crawford.

The second guest on the program is Steve Farhood, a long time boxing commentator and recent Hall of Fame inductee. Farhood shares his analysis of the upcoming light welterweight showdown between Mikey Garcia and Adrien ‘The Problem’ Broner. Steve also talks about the Mayweather-McGregor crossover event and if he feels McGregor stands a chance against ‘Money’ Mayweather. Lastly, Steve Farhood comments on the September bout that will see reigning middleweight champ, Gennady Golovkin face off against Mexican superstar, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

    I find it funny that Senior thinks that Canelo will beat Triple g. I think it’s his way of pumping up what his son did in that boring points win. I think Canelo is really overrated and we will see the best triple G on the 16th of September.

    I think Wilder put out that he might fight Ortiz as a play to look like he was not ducking everyone. He knows hes stuck with a rematch with Stiverne, so he is just acting like hes willing to fight Ortiz. It’s a bluff, because he knows its not a reality.
