(by Robert Brown) In part two of my interview with trainer Jeff Mayweather, I talk with him about the recent fan poll that saw Amir Khan get selected as the next opponent for Floyd Mayweather Jr. I also get Jeff’s thoughts on the Pacquiao-Bradley rematch, and which fighter has more pressure on them in the rematch. Additionally I get Mayweather’s views on if there could be another bad decision in the rematch, if Bob Arum is worried about losing his most famous boxer, and what it means to be a Mayweather. Here is what Jeff Mayweather had to say.
Robert Brown: Jeff, was the Floyd Mayweather opponent poll rigged?
Jeff Mayweather: I think in all honesty, no one really gives Amir Khan a chance. Like I said, I don’t think Amir Khan even deserves a shot at Floyd after coming off a knock out and then almost losing and getting dropped by Julio Diaz, and Julio Diaz is way past his prime. I don’t even think he deserves the shot, and he’s not bringing anything to the table. He doesn’t have a world title.
Now, it’s different because when you’re talking about the possibility of fighting Maidana, there’s a story attached to that. You have Adrien Broner who looks up to Floyd but couldn’t get the job done, and he calls himself the carbon copy of Floyd. Now put Maidana in there with Floyd and lets see if he can do the same thing with Floyd. That’s sellable, plus there’s a title at stake.
Robert Brown: Who is under the most pressure in the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley rematch?
Jeff Mayweather: I think more pressure is on Pacquiao than Bradley. I say that because Pacquiao is in a situation in which he can’t afford another loss. Don’t get me wrong, if he wins, of course the fight with him and Floyd is still talked about, it still has value and meaning. If he loses, it’s over with. You can’t even convince no one that you have a chance, nobody even cares.
A Pacquiao fan, they will be that way until they die, but I’m talking about a real boxing fan, they know that he doesn’t have a chance with Floyd, so why is everybody still barking about it and making an issue? Pacquiao has to win, and not only that, he’s in a situation of owing the government that kind of money, you can’t afford to lose because you gotta continue to make money.
Robert Brown: Could lightning strike twice in terms of a controversial decision?
Jeff Mayweather: Of course, boxing is just like anything else, it’s a business, but at the same time you don’t want to point fingers at no one. I think there’s a possibility, because I know at one point in time, Pacquiao was looking forward to taking that fight with Floyd, but all of the sudden this situation happens.
Like I said, I’m not gonna point fingers at anyone because that’s just not me, but a lot of people know what goes on behind closed doors. It is a business at the end of the day. There might be a controversial decision or maybe it’s a situation in which the right guy wins this time.
Robert Brown: Is Bob Arum worried about losing the goose that lays his golden eggs, so to speak?
Jeff Mayweather: I think that’s a possibility because at the end of the day, Pacquiao is the only person that people want to see fight Floyd because he has a fan base and he can make the fight a huge, huge fight, and there’s so much money to be made.
Even if Tim Bradley wins, Tim Bradley doesn’t have a huge following. Unless he knocks Pacquiao out, his following is still not gonna get bigger than what it is. Pacquiao is actually the only guy that can generate the kind of money that makes this beyond a super fight, one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing, ever.
With that being said, of course Bob(Arum) wants to be a part of that, he doesn’t want to be cut out of that if it’s possible. At the end of the day, you just gotta watch the fight and if it’s another bogus decision like it was last time, somebody’s gotta be questioned.
Robert Brown: The Mayweathers have a proud history in the sport, how does it feel to be a part of that history?
Jeff Mayweather: I think it’s great but at the same time, me personally, I would still probably feel the same way even if I wasn’t a Mayweather. I know that it’s great to be able to come from a family that actually has history.
We have some type of history that probably will never be surpassed, and that’s simultaneously, me, Roger and Floyd Sr, all three had world champions at the same time. Three different world champions at the same time, simultaneously, I don’t think that will ever be duplicated,. Also another trivia question is, three fighters from the same family that actually all fought three Olympic gold medalists.
There’s a strong history and it’s something we can be proud of. Like I said, me personally, even if my last name wasn’t Mayweather, I’d still be proud of who I am, but at the same time, it comes with the territory. I am a Mayweather, so it’s like I can’t get away from it even though I’m the least known Mayweather. Still to this day, some people don’t know who I am, I’m the one Mayweather that people don’t know.
It was indeed a pleasure talking to Jeff Mayweather; I thank for his time and wish him well for the future.
JEFF MAYWEATHER: “PACQUIAO’S A GUY THAT’S IN NEED OF FLOYD, FLOYD DON’T NEED HIM. THE GUY IS $68 MILLION IN THE RED, WITH HIS TAXES AND THE IRS.”

Mr alibi,coward fuck you,bulshiet coward
The coward and fraud gayweather clan talk bullshit again!
Yes the Mayweather has a history, a history of wife-beating, drug trafficking, assault and jail terms.
A record that will never be surpassed indeed…
Whoever taking serious with this people must be lunatic too, even interviewing any Mayweather is idiocy every time they open their mouth they exposes their butt!!
I have no problems with bashers but i hate RACISTS. I never like the Mayweathers for being arrogant but i will never talk like you Mr Datsboygym. Just the STFU , you are big disgrace to us Pinoys!
I hate racist!! too they has no place to anywhere, Mr Datsboygym is simply ignorant!!. I have to accept I don’t like this Mayweathers the way they talk!!!they keep on defending Floyd ( which I found normal)I will remain in Pacquiao group of fans! forever!!
Your damn right no good I am Asian and there are also some kind of racist slur thrown to us we are all human beings what ever color do we have on skin we coexist and do things to help each one survive we have all roles to play on this planet to perform and race is not a barrier.
WTF is wrong with you idiots all u racists should go extinct u ignorant fckn bastards. Jeff didn’t even say anything bad about Manny. Out of all Mayweathers, Jeff seems the most polite and humble… so show some respect. And this is coming from a Pinoy.
More COWARD YELLOW talks from the DUCKING Family !
But whenMAnny ask to fight , they were all quiet.
Once a Mayweather always a COWARD !
Something is wrong wid this guy dandreb, just what makes u different from d rest of us-from them… come on, be civil, racist has no place in this thread, di tayo ganyan pare, mali yan, maling mali (trans. he is a spoil brat)
Mongoloid uncle gayweather.do you have award recieve being trainor?your nepiew is crying boy as 5’8 tall only six belt championship?can’t fight real fighter in middleweight!how much pacquiao only 5’6 with 8 belt!..comon?ali knock and loss but become greatest coz he never scared.your nepiew and you family dosen’t have a balls!ruuuuuunnnnnn!!
“A Pacquiao fan, they will be that way until they die, but I’m talking about a real boxing fan, they know that he doesn’t have a chance with Floyd, so why is everybody still barking about it and making an issue? “…Jeff Mayweather..
Manny Pacquaio doesn’t have a chance against Floyd?..Man, Jeff Mayweather is on crack for sure…If Jeff Mayweather thinks Manny Pacquaio have a large fan base and can generate big PPV and doesn’t have a chance against his nephew, then please tell Floyd Mayweather Jr. to step in the ring already.
i don’t point the finger wasn’t he saying paquaio has tax problems, this amount that amount when the offer was to fight for charity (pointing the finger) another CROCK with another Mayweather
I like Jeff Mayweather. I don’t always agree with him, but he is the only Mayweather who is level headed.
If Pacquiao doesn’t have a chance, why not step in the ring with him for a fight that can potentially generate over $200 million? Easy pay day right? All the Mayweathers are straight up on crack.
The Mayweathers are Boxing’s “Duck Dynasty”
Jeff is the most level headed among the crack head Mayweathers. Fight Manny now!
If everybody knows that Mayweather will beat Pacquiao like Jeff is saying why didn’t his nephew fight Pacquiao in the first place? do he thinks that we are stupid? like them who idolize alibiser coward of the USA…
FLOYD GAYWEATHER DOESNT DESERVED TO BE AN AMERICAN FOR AMERICA IS THE LAND AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE. . .
PROVE IT THAT YOU ARE A REAL MCCOY FLOYD. . .
Floyde knows Pacquiao is the most difficult opponent for him and this is the only reason why the bout had a hard time getting off the ground. Why have a thousand and one alibi not to fight Pacquiao when this match will give Floydie the biggest pay of his career? Why doesn’t he have a single alibi against those boxers whom he fought before? Come on Floydie, boxing has given you so much and the only way you can give back to boxing is face Pacquiao. Can’t you see, most of the world is now calling you a coward? Even the great boxing champions are calling you names such as chicken? You will not get that lasting legacy if you retire and not fight Pacquiao.
Manny’s tax problem is not an issue here.. ITS FLOYD FIGHTING HIM (PACQUIAO) is what boxing fans is all after. Does this a hard thing to understand ??????? Come On.
jeff mayweather is the best of all mayweathers! he make sense.. i dont need to mention the other mayweathers. i hope his good sense will ninfluence floyd jr.
What has Pacquiao’s tax problems got to do with the fact that Mayweather is afraid to fight him? If the Mayweathers learn that Pacquaio got bitten by a dog, will they use that also as an excuse to dodge Pacquiao? Why not just admit the truth that they know there is a great chance that Mayweather will be knocked out by Pacquiao as their reason for refusing to fight? More than losing to Pacquiao, they are afraid that Mayweather will not earn the millions he use to earn as a consequence of the loss. The whole world know that already. Everything that the Mayweathers have accomplished will not be remembered. The only thing that will be associated with the name Mayweather is the fact that he refused to fight Pacquiao in spite of adamant demands from fans worldwide. There is a chance that fans will feel hatred towards them with just the mention of their name for denying them the chance to watch this fight. Their refusal to admit the truth just adds to their embarrassment.
mayweathers are a bunch of principleless cowards. its an insult to the boxing world to put somebody from this clan on top of boxing… ass kissing ducks!! they live in their own world and own rules , and some writers are paid to live with them.
i do not know Jeff. It’s a fact that he is not known coz he did not go to jail The other three – Roger, Floyd Sr., Floyd Jr, all went to jail that is why they are known.
pls, no more blah, blah blah….just fight
MONKEY IS TALKING. WE SHOULD SHUT UP NOW 😀
ITS FUN TO TALK ABOUT THE GAYWEATHER’S THESE DAYS
Mayweathers cannot put their names in history up high because they are tainted with criminal records. They are not love by the boxing fans.
Only fool will believe the nonsense talk of the Mayweathers .. they didn’t believe on their own self. .. They tend to forget their previous stance and will say otherwise than what they have said and done in a short period of time. (hekhek) What a bunch of pool. Jealousy, ego, greed, selfishness are evident every time they speak. “mga walanghiya” bwahahekhek
Everyone in the Mayweather family is a mental case, isn’t it? I hope I am mistaken. Greed is another trademark of Floydie. When ask if he is going to share some of his wealth to Africa, no surprise when he said “What has Africa done to me? I only give donation to my family” Is this a human being? Your guess is as good as mine!
he pretend to foget his original color where he belong .hes a dumb black ass w/ a white balls. bwa ha ha ha.
I find Jeff Mayweather’s views reasonable and fair as regards Manny Pacquiao.
Pacquiao does NOT like to fight an EXCON either!!!…..who cares how much pacq owes the IRS or the BIR.or whoever. why would gaytwitter cares about that… this gay has too many non-stop bulla$$ alibis…
Pacq can pay all his debts but gaytwit can not pay. even with all his money, to reverse his being an excon. he will be an excon forever…
