On the Ropes” Boxing Radio returns this week with the shows 254th edition and host Jenna J to talk about all the recent fights and fight news going on in the sport. In this episode, I will recap Saturday night’s Pay-Per-View fight between former world champions Juan Manuel Lopez and Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. The bout was competitive throughout and produced an exciting knockout in the 11th round, only to be overshadowed by the controversial encounter between the victorious Juan Manuel Lopez and one of Vazquez Jr’s corner men. I will also discuss the current state of boxing and what fights are coming up that fans can look forward to. Lastly I will break down the upcoming Manny Pacquiao vs. Jessie Vargas fight that is set to happen this Saturday night on PPV. The first guest of this week’s show is reigning WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas. He comes on to discuss his preparations for this weekend’s bout with former 8 division world champion Manny Pacquiao and talks about what he expects from the future hall of famer. Vargas talks about his growth as a fighter and why he thinks he will be able to defeat Pacquiao. Additionally, Jessie shares his thoughts on Manny Pacquiao as a fighter, what he sees Pacquiao’s biggest strengths being and gives his prediction for the November 5th bout.
This weeks final guest will be none other then hall of fame boxing trainer Freddie Roach who will be discussing the training camp that he had with Manny Pacquiao and sharing his thoughts on upcoming fight against Jessie Vargas for this weekend. Roach speaks on what he sees in a now 37 year old Pacquiao and talks about what challenges he sees from Jessie Vargas. Freddie also talks about the chances of getting a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr and what he thinks Pacquiao will do different to get the win. I can’t see any reason why Pacquiao will lose. I think Vargas is hand picked. We will see, but I just think Pac at 37 is still better then 99% of the people out there
Totally agree Wladimir K is still the best HW out there. Would have Haye number 2 though. Has been inactive I know but I still think he takes out all the rest. Too quick and powerfull. KO’s Joshua and Wilder. He will pick up a belt in 2017. Wilder at 3. Joshua still very raw and not ready for WK or Haye.
